This place is also known as the Central America Amazon. As small village dedicated to fishing and surrounded by water. On one side of the village you will find the Atlantic and on the other a fresh lagoon and the intricate canals system. This remote place can be access only by boat or by plane. Here you will have to take the 5 stars standards out of your mind. Small cabins are spotted by the jungle. Infrastructure is simple but comfortable; however, you need to keep on mind that you are in the middle of the jungle so no TV’s in the rooms, no air conditioned, WiFi available only in restricted areas of the lodge. All the hotels sell packages with transportation and meals included, from 1 night up to 3 nights, if you want to extend your stay you can pay for extra nights with meals included. The reason of having the meals included is because there is no restaurants in town and also not all the lodges are in town side, others are located at the other side of the lake so you will need a small boat to cross to the village. Tours to Tortuguero National Park are also included and are a great opportunity to see and learn about flora and fauna. This is a perfect spot to find the peace of the forest, quite hammocks to rest or get in contact with nature spirit. Mawamba Lodge is a very nice option here, located on a privileged zone because have access to the beach, the town and the lagoon at the same time. However, we can mention Pachira Lodge with very nice rooms or Manatus Hotel which is considered as the upscale option in the area because is the only one with air conditioning and the menu is always a la carte.
